Fe Viva (Faith Alive) World Missions
Fe Viva has been ministering full time throughout Central America since 1995. With the support of Mission Teams, individuals, churches and organizations, much has been accomplished. Since 1995, the work has grown to include many distinct ministries directed by a wonderful team of missionaries and national staff. God continues to increase the Vision to include building children’s homes, schools, medical facilities and ministry bases in Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Sudan. Fe Viva (Faith Alive) World Missions is dedicated to partnering with the local churches in Central America, Africa, North America and around the world; we invite you to be a part of what God is doing in these nations!
The Glamorous General Fund
Definition of General: affecting or concerning all or most people or things; widespread.
In 2013, we want to bring to the attention of the partners and friends of Fe Viva the area of the General Fund. We are doing this because it is an important area of the ministry that many times gets overlooked or goes unnoticed in all the busyness and excitement of the work. Yet the General Fund affects all areas of Fe Viva.
For those who have a family, own a home, serve in a church or run a business, you know that having a budget, paying the electrical bill or covering overhead in NOT very glamorous. We know that as well. However, without the General Fund, all the important projects, that can seem more "glamorous", would not happen. Funds for paying the electrical, maintaining vehicles, building upkeep, staff salaries and much more come out of the General Fund.
We encourage you this year, as you think and pray as to what areas you are to give to Fe Viva, that you would consider the General Fund. This will help Fe Viva to be able to do more here in Central America.
Together we can put the Glamor back into the General Fund.
God Bless,
Matt and Kerry Blacklock
Stoves for Life Program
The "Stoves for Life" program is running very well and is truly affecting families' lives in our region. Nelson and Melissa Mejia, who oversee this program, work with families to educate and train them how to use these healthy energy efficient stoves. Fe Viva's construction workers and members of teams that come, help prepare the area and set up these stoves. To date, Fe Viva has set up over 50 stoves with 40 more that are in the application process.
Many people in Guatemala use open fires for cooking in their homes. Every day familes are exposed to the harmful smoke and flames. These smoke-filled rooms, cause respiratory disorders, and cancers. The Goal is to install 1000 fuel efficient wood burning stoves in our region to families committed to using them.
Watch Stoves being assembled: February 2013
The stoves will benefit each family by:
1. Having proper ventilation
2. Preventing accidental burn injuries
3. Reducing fuel consumption, thus saving families money.
This program saves lives.
