Casa de Refugio (House of Refuge)
Guatemala has thousands of homeless, destitute men, women and children who live in the streets. House of Refuge has a permanent home in Chiquimulilla that provides food, shelter, clothing, counseling and the love of Christ to individuals.
We are planning to develop a rehabilitation centre for the men away from Chiquimillia where they will have the opportunity to grow and learn without the bombardment of bad influences all around them.
We just completed another breakfast with the ladies (prostitutes) where we shared the Word of the Lord and had another powerful time of ministry in God's Presence. To let you all know as a praise that a few of the ladies that we have been ministering to have left their jobs prostituting and are no longer there. This is a huge blessing and fruit to see how the Lord has opened the doors for these ladies to firstly open their hearts to Jesus' love and healing power and also to get out of prosituting. Please continue to pray for them and the other women that are still there, because the Bar owners, or as we would say pimps, did not let some of the ladies come to the last breakfast as a result of their loss of income and 'workers'. Steve and Karla Stoffelson, and these ladies need your prayer at this time to continue with strength and in the Lord's favour and wisdom.
