Fe Viva provides one meal a day to each student in our Nicaragua school.  For many of the children it is the only meal they receive each day.

We would like to increase the amount of food each child receives each day, but in order to do so, we need to build a cold storage unit.  This unit will store our fresh food and produce to eliminate risk of contamination from rodents, insects and other animals.

Our Vision for Nicaragua

Our vision for Nicaragua is to build a large school to replace the present overcrowded school, a Medical Clinic, and two Children's Homes.

  • A modest open-air school building would cost an estimated $50,000.
  • A small medical facility would cost approximately $15,000 to build and equip.
The estimated monthly clinic budget is approximately $2,000 USD, for wages, maintenance, and supplies. Much of the medicines and supplies will be brought with North American teams and contacts through Fe Viva.  The staffing for the clinic facility would be a joint venture between Nicaraguans and North Americans;  Fe Viva also has contacts with local churches that are willing to help with this on a volunteer basis. Fe Viva will also regularly bring North American teams to assist the volunteers and staff.
  • After the medical clinic is built, we hope to build a boys' home and a girls' home for "children in crisis" on the same site. The cost for each home with space for 12 - 15 children is approximately $25,000 - $30,000 USD each.
  • The purchase of a vehicle is an immediate need. The estimated cost is $15,000 USD. Approximately $250/month would be needed to operate and maintain the vehicle.
  • We also want to purchase approximately two acres of land ($80,000 USD) to build a Bible School facility and Missions Compound, where short term mission groups can be housed while serving the community.
