Sports is a natural and fun way to enable connection between people in a community, provide teachable moments in character development, build trust, and give times of relief from harsh realities.  When FeViva began the endeavour of building a soccer pitch, we knew that it would create a space for the community to experience all of these - it has done just that and more!  Since its beginning, this full-sized, multifunctional field has given us the ability to host professional matches, develop multi-level training for all ages and skill sets, conduct soccer clinics and sports camps, as well as provide on-going training of approximately 120 students with a full-time coach.  

 

Our sports programs have become an integral part of our ministry’s evangelism and community care efforts.  Soccer is such a beloved national past-time in Guatemala and by participating in that past-time, we are able to help many fatherless young people in crucial areas of personal need.  Everything we do is with Christ as our centre; our sports programs are no exception.  Because of this sports facility, we are able to reach a generation of people with the love of Christ in simple ways that provide lasting effect.

It is a professional size soccer pitch which includes lighting for night time play. The soccer pitch will be a multi functional field that will give us the ability to bring in professional matches, develop multi-leveled training for all levels of age and skill. It will also allow our college to include certified athletic courses in education.
